A bit about Maz Silver... the story so far
Hi, I'm Maz . Owner, designer and maker
I started Maz Silver from my parents dining room in Gloucestershire, 2022. Back then, I was working in Child Care, which I enjoyed but it was never my goal to be there forever. I was constantly chasing the dream of being a creative, following a degree in Fine Art from Brighton, I had an itch that needed to be scratched.
As a birthday gift I got a place on a 6 week jewellery making course in Bristol with the amazing Amy Whinestone. I completely fell in love with the jewellery making process. I saved up and ordered a bunch of basic tools and got to work.
Skip 2 years and a lot of cuts and burns later, I got my own jewellery studio. I began running monthly wax carving workshops, weekly silversmith courses and selling out at markets across Somerset. As well as creating and launching my own jewellery collections.
This has all been a wild dream, and every step I've taken has gotten me slightly closer to a target that's constantly evolving. I couldn't have done any of this without the amazing team around me. I owe many people a great deal of thanks... you know who you are!
The Team

Matt.
My amazing partner, who's been to every workshop and every market. He's been there every step of the way and without his constant support and energy, I would still be making rings in my mums house.
Matt's a professional tennis racquet stringer by day, long distance runner by night, and jewellery enthusiast on weekends. As well as love and support, Matt has a key role in Maz Silver as a model, workshop assistant and top market seller!

Haz and Bea.
My two queens, these guys have been ticking things over for me in the background when I've been too focused on other things. They're always making sure I'm fuelled with coffee and brownies and crucially, on time and feeling happy!
Haz is a shining light in my life and a constant reminder to just keep your head up and crack on! She helps me with all things aesthetic on my market stall, offering new ideas and taking the best photos.
Bea is my old uni pal. We lived together in Brighton and now share a studio space in Bath. She's an incredible print maker and artistic mind. Bea has been with me for many years and always reminding me to take a breath and let the work speak for itself. Bea comes with me to markets and has helped me deliver leaflets all over Bath.
Made to last
Mum and Dad.
It goes without saying that I owe a great deal to my wonderful parents.
Maz Silver started in their dining room in our family home. If you look closely (which I recommend my Mum and Dad shouldn't) you'll see a dining room table covered in saw marks, file scuffs and burnt edges. They never prevented me from spending my time chasing a creative career, even at the expense of their furniture.
Since then, they've helped me move studios, told everyone they know about my jewellery making and frequently come along to support me at my market events. They may have even sneaked a few rings out of the stock pile for themselves over the years.

Gemma.
She's the brains behind my logo, my leaflets, and all things graphics.
Not only is she a graphic design wizard, she's a full time teacher, freelance graphic designer and runs her own ceramics studio called 'Root Pottery'.
The design idea behind my logo was based on fossils. We wanted to explore the feeling of natural origins and enhance the idea of jewellery lasting forever, becoming a keepsake and something you can pass down over time. A fossil felt like a great starting point... the rest was over to Gemma.

Cridge.
Photographer, videographer, father of twin boys and oldest friend. You can see his incredible work on my instagram.
Cridge has a habit of making the normal look extraordinary. He's captured some Maz Silver mile stones with his camera and is always on hand for a photoshoot day.
Cridge and I met when we were approximately a month old, and still manage to work together soundly. He's a real hero.
